We are a Team of Specialists

In 1984 the Sports-medical Institute Frankfurt/Main e.V. (SMI) 1984 was created as a sports-medical central advisory board to the state of Hessen. Since then it is located at Otto-Fleck-Schneise. Thus a direct neighbourhood exists to all large german sports organizations, to the National Sport Federation Hessen and to the Olympic point of support Frankfurt Rhine Main.
Since its establishment the SMI developed into one of the most prominent sports medical centers in Germany. Physicians and Physiotherapists care for athletes during state, national and international championships as well as during the olympic games.
The SMI is at the disposal to sports aces of the federal cadres (A, B, C), state cadres (D) and others, who have orthopedic or internal medical problems or who wish to know their physical fitness. The SMI coordinates the activities of the regional sports-medical examination places in the state of Hessen. Thereby it is jointly responsible for complete regional medical examination of athletes, in particular the young talents of Hessen.
Through scientific activities the SMI ensures the training and further education of students, physicians, physiotherapists and coaches as well as the permanent flow of knowledge, thereby providing a way for the rapid conversion of meaningful innovation in medicine and sports.
